Penny Lebyane (born December 25, 1976) is a South African disc jockey and radio personality. Many listeners prefer to refer to her as "The Queen of Radio."

Her experience in the field has given her confidence, and she is the first black female disc jockey in South Africa. She has worked with a number of prominent radio stations, including Metro FM.

She was placed with the judges in the 2002 M-net competition Idols. She hosted the 8th Annual Metro FM Music Awards in 2007. In February 2010, she co-hosted the SABC1 lifestyle show Motswako.

Penny Lebyane was born on December 25, 1976, in Bushbuckridge, a local municipality in Mpumalanga's Ehlanzeni District. She was raised in a modest household and comes from a Christian family. Her parents valued education, and she received a basic education while witnessing Apartheid. 

Education
Penny Lebyane earned a National Diploma in Public Relations, Media/Communications from the prestigious University of South Africa.

Career

Penny Lebyane is a radio personality who has worked as a deejay and a host. She has worked in radio since she was a child.

She began working at the Voice of Soweto community radio station in Grade 12. She made her acting debut in the second season of the South African sitcom City Ses'la. 

Her love of competition led her to participate in the second season of I Love South Africa. She appeared on Season 1 of Idol South Africa before returning as a Judge in Season 2. She is also a frequent television guest, serving as an actress, judge, host, and presenter.


Penny served as a judge on the popular M-Net television show Idols and in season one of The Search: E! Host South Africa.

It's OK We're Family, Sunrise, and The Metro FM Music Awards are among her other television credits. She hosted the ninth season of the South African Film and Television Awards.

Personal Life

Penny Lebyane has two beautiful children with her baby daddy and ex-boyfriend Ali Naka. 

Her marriage to the Zimbabwean businessman ended in divorce in 2008.

The break-up caused her a lot of pain, including depression. However, the media personality chose to look on the bright side of life and move on.

Lebyane took her baby daddy Ali Naka to court for failing to sign travel documents for their sons, which prevented them from spending time with her on vacation in Swaziland. 

Penny's personal belongings were auctioned off by the sheriff of the court to settle her debt after she breached a rental agreement with a specific company.

She attends the Assemblies of God Church in Sandton as a Christian. Penny volunteers at her church and teaches Sunday school.
