Omawumi's full name is Omawumi Megbele. She is a well-known singer and actress from Nigeria. She rose to prominence after finishing second in the 2007 West African Idols competition.
Early Childhood and Education
Omawumi was born on April 13, 1982, in Delta State, to Chief Dr. Frank and Mrs. Aya Megbele. She is from Delta State, which is located in Nigeria's South-South geopolitical zone. Her primary school education was received at Nana Primary School. Omowumi attended the College of Education Demonstration Secondary School for her secondary education. She continued her education at Ambrose Alli University, where she earned a law degree.
Career
After graduating from Ambrose Alli University, Owowumi began working for the law firm O.S. Megbele & Associates. Omawumi rose to prominence after competing in Idols West Africa. Omawumi was named first runner-up at the contest's conclusion in May 2007. P-Square, 2face Idibia, Phyno, D'Banj, Banky W, M.I., Sasha, 9ice, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Carl Thomas, Angie Stone, Donell Jones, and Angelique Kidjo are among the artists she has performed with since.
Omawumi's debut single, "In The Music," was released in September 2008. Wonderwoman was released on November 11, 2009. The Lasso of Truth was released on April 10, 2013. In Her Feelings, her fourth album, was released in 2019 and featured Afrofusion, jazz, and R&B.
For My Baby, Mr. Sinnerman, Away, True Loving, Tabansi, and Green Grass are among the songs on the album. Her single, "Lituation," was released on May 22, 2020. Love Deep High Life (LDHL), her fourth studio album, was released, featuring contributions from Phyno, Waje, Brymo, and Ric Hassani.
Career in Acting
Omawumi has always included dramatic and visual demonstration elements in her music videos, making her a thespian and the movie roles that have come her way even before she made her official debut in the realm of make-believe. She made her stage debut in 2009 with V-Monologues, a literary work intended to depict the challenges and plight of women in Nigeria.

Omowumi went on to star in the award-winning film 'Inale'. She co-starred in the Ghanaian film "House of Gold" with popular singer Ice Prince. She debuted in film production in 2019 when she collaborated with Waje on a film project as co-producer.
