Nomfundo Moh's Biography in Summary

Nomfundo Ngcobo, also known as Nomfundo Moh, is a South African singer-songwriter. She is best known for her 2021 hit song Lilizela, which was certified gold in South Africa.

Universal Music has signed the seasoned singer to a record deal. She released her album Amagama in 2022. It featured the song Phakade Lami, which reached the top of the music charts. Her music is Afropop because she is inspired by the African sound.

Nomfundo Ngcobo was born in Ndwendwe, KwaZulu-Natal, on July 18, 2000. She grew up in town and began her musical career in 2016.

Her family called her Nomfundo Moh as a child, and she adopted the moniker. She has always enjoyed music and began singing at the age of six.

She began performing at church and school functions.

Beginning to sing in church laid the groundwork for her, and she expanded from there. She began writing songs in Grade 11 in 2016. She began producing covers in her bedroom until she had a hit song.

Because of the nature of the music industry, her family initially opposed her entering it. They were aware that she had more options outside of music. They are now one of her staunchest supporters.

Education

Nomfundo Ngcobo attended the University of KwaZulu-Natal to pursue a Bachelor of Social Work degree.

Graduation

The graduation ceremony for Moh was memorable.  In September 2020, Nomfundo Ngcobo will begin work on her debut studio album. She is signed to the Universal Music South Africa label.

When she walked to collect her degree, the hall was filled with excitement as other graduates sang her song Soft Life. It was also being played on the speaker as she walked onto the stage.

Later, the singer was awarded a double-platinum plaque for her hit song Phakade Lami.
The song, which featured Ami Faku and Sha Sha, debuted at the top of the Metro FM Top 40 Charts.  It peaked at number four on the list of Most Popular Radio Singles. In South Africa, it was also certified 4 platinum. In January 2022, Nomfundoh released her debut studio album, Amagama. It reached number seven on Spotify's album charts.
