Moremi attended Dereke Kobe secondary school before transferring to Matladi secondary school. Tshwane University of Technology (T.U.T) provided her with a B-Tech degree in Applied Languages/Linguistics.

Career

She is a well-known singer, actress, and songwriter from South Africa. She rose to prominence in 2015 after finishing second in the Mzansi Magic reality competition series Idols (season 11). 

Her performance landed her a record deal with Universal Music South Africa. She eventually left to pursue a career in gospel music. 

Her company, Mmatema Moremi Media Productions (Pty) Ltd, produced gospel music. In February 2017, she appeared in episode four of Raw Silk, a SABC1 reality series. 

In Bone of My Bones, she played Thembi, a musician turned teacher who is married to a struggling musician. Her professional acting debut is credited to her role in the SABC2 drama series.

Husband

Mmatema Moremi is married to Tshepo Gavu, better known as Mr G. In 2014, the couple met at an audition. Mr G mentioned during the audition that Moremi was too loud.

As fate would have it, they ran into each other again and reconnected. She gave him her phone number at his request, and they became close. Despite the fact that she was in a relationship, she ended it in order to be with Mr G.

Wedding

Mr G had to propose three times before getting a "yes!" 

He got the desired response the third time, and their parents set up the traditional part of it. The couple exchanged wedding vows in 2018.
