VERY EARLY LIFE
Mesen Selekta's passion in music began at the age of 14 when his father purchased him a piano and a piano tutor. Mesen began attending Mukidoma Secondary School at the age of 17, where he met new friends and roommates Barnabas Shegella aka Bonke, Kumbuka Mwakibinga, and Frank Muya or Zpower, but the next year they were joined by Martin Thadeus aka Konsciouz, who became a new member. Mesen formed a short-lived group called X members. Mesen wrote many songs, including gospel and RNB, which helped him become the most popular X member. Mesen dropped out of school to pursue a career in music. He released "Baby," but it received little market success and airplay, so he moved to production.
