Education

MCA Tricky was initially a school dropout from Ikungu Primary School in Makindu, Mombasa. Speaking of his education, as a child, he attended Ikungu Primary School in Makindu, Mombasa county, and completed in 2004. He enrolled at Light International Academy in Karen after he secured himself a full scholarship from the school’s management. He was brought to the limelight after he successfully auditioned for Churchill show back in 2016 and is now one of Kenya’s celebrated comedians. He later enrolled for an engineering course in Kenyatta University that he has since completed

Life on the Streets

At the tender age of 12 years, he was thrust into the harsh reality of harsh street life. His peers convinced him to accompany them to Nairobi in search of greener pastures without the knowledge of his parents. Filled with desperation and frustration due to lack of school fees, forced him to agree on the proposal, only to realize that life in the city was harder than he expected.

He lived in Nairobi's Saika estate while there and made a living by delivering vegetables to and from the Gikomba market. He was maltreated by uncaring bystanders and suffered from hunger. But over time, the folks he was hanging out with started introducing drugs to him. He eventually found himself being moved from one deserted home to another. He was encouraged by members of the little-known Barikiwa set book group, who frequently presented shows in various colleges, to embrace humor as a means of numbing the suffering of hard street life, despite the fact that life gave very little to laugh about.

I was first merely hustling while being hosted by someone, but as things worsened, I found myself in abandoned places.

MCA Tricky wasn't expecting to be a comic because the first time he attended the Churchill Show audition, he was actually escorting a buddy. He registered as a formality when he arrived at Carnivore because he mistakenly believed that lunch was provided for free. He was asked to perform, and after only two or three jokes, the judges granted him a chance since they appreciated his delivery. On March 10, 2016, his first segment on The Churchill Show aired.

He participated in Churchill show auditions in February 2016 and won the competition. His stage uniform consists of a Redshirt, a baggy grey coat, and three-quarter length navy blue pants. His character is centered around nairobi street guys' lives and narratives. He gives his street experience a humorous twist in order to amuse and inform his viewers on what it's actually like to be on the streets.

Many fans of the show that is filmed at Carnivore and broadcast on NTV [show ended] every Sunday have come to love MCA Tricky. Tricky prides himself on being a street kid, and his accent only serves to support that claim.
