Magixx's Biography in Summary

Adelabu Alexander (born September 27, 1999) is the newest member of Mavin Records.

He performs under the stage name Magixx. After months of training at Mavin Academy, the talented artist landed a record deal with Mavin Records.

He released his debut project, Magix EP, to announce his entry into the industry.

The five-track self-titled project is currently receiving widespread airplay on radio stations, television stations, and online media outlets across the country.

Early Years

Magixx was born in 1999 to Mr. and Mrs. Alexander.

Born into a Christian family with Yoruba ancestors, his parents instilled in him a deep respect for elders and his culture.

He was raised on Lagos's mainland and spent his formative years in Ogba town.

As a child, he was drawn to music and would spend hours listening to songs from various genres such as Pop, Hip-hop, Reggae, and Highlife.

Magixx decided to try his hand at music after being inspired by artists such as Fela Kuti, 2baba, D'banj, and Shina Peters. He began composing music lyrics in the comfort of his bedroom.

He progressed from simply writing songs to performing them in front of a crowd at school contests and carnivals in his community.

After receiving positive feedback from his audience, he made the decision to pursue music full-time.

Education

Magixx comes from a family that places a high value on education. This is why his parents enrolled him in private schools for elementary and secondary school.

He received good grades in his West African School Certificate after graduating from high school.

Following his O'Levels, he was admitted to the University of Lagos to pursue a degree in Mass Communications.

After four years of academic study, he graduated from the institution.

Career

While still a student at UNILAG, Magixx was involved in the school's music scene, regularly attending parties, shows, and concerts. He never failed to demonstrate his musical creativity at these events. This established him as a notable figure in Unilag's entertainment community and aided in the development of a small but devoted fanbase.

In April 2019, he recorded and uploaded a cover of Burna Boy's hit song, Dangote, to his Instagram page. The video quickly went viral, with over 35,000 views. Furthermore, he is known to have previously released freestyle versions of popular songs.

On September 3, 2021, he released Sinner, a cover of the song.

The video, like his other cover songs, went viral on Instagram, garnering over 43,000 views. Adekunle Gold sang the original music.

On September 23, 2021, music executive Don Jazzy announced Magixx as the latest signing to Mavin Records. Magixx, who had been a student at Mavin Academy for months, released his debut project, Magixx EP, the same day his signing was announced.

Magixx joins a strong alumni network of successful music stars such as Crayon, Ayra Starr, Ruger, Johnny Drille, and Rema as a Mavin Academy graduate.

The EP by Magixx consists of five songs: Love Don't Cost A Dime, Like A Movie, Pati, Gratitude, and Motivate Yourself.

Love Don't Cost A Dime's visuals were shot by one of the industry's best, Director K.

Within hours of its release, the video had received over 8.1k views on YouTube. The video featured fashion model Sonia Kordi, and Styled By Reus was awarded the contract for fashion stylist.

Magixx collaborated closely with Mavin executives Tega Oghenejobo (Chief Operating Officer) and Rima Tahini (Director Of A&R) during the project's pre-release phase.

In order to provide his audience with timeless music, he had to work with producers such as Lomon Christopher, Randay, Kenny, Lex Luther, and Naked Beatz.

Private Life

Magixx currently resides in Lekki, Lagos. He is living in Mavin's apartment building with Ruger, Rema, Ladipoe, Korede Bello, Boy Spyce, Johnny Drille, and Ayra Starr.

Magixx's recent deal with Mavin Records means that the young artist will get more exposure. The record label would be in charge of producing his songs, publishing them, and marketing his brand.

Magixx prefers to wear earrings with spots and has a distinct dreadlocks hairstyle. The rising Afrobeats act is currently single, unmarried, and unattached.
