Lerato Mvelase is a South African actress, voice actress, singer, and TV host. After learning that Moloisane had adopted her mother, she changed her name to Mvelase, the name her mother had before she was adopted.

She had appeared in several theatre productions while attending the University of the Witwatersrand. She was hired as a presenter at CCMI after graduating. Her first acting role came a year later, in 2003.

Lerato's acting career took off after he appeared in the film Home Affairs. The public then fell in love with her acting. She had previously appeared in other popular series such as Shreds, Dreams, and Katlego.
