Lee Maiyani Kinyanjui 's Biography in Summary

Lee Kinyanjui, the former governor of Nakuru County, won the seat on a Jubilee ticket in the 2017 general elections after unsuccessfully running for the same position in 2013.

Kinyanjui earned a bachelor's degree in literature from Kenyatta University before going on to complete a master's degree in business administration at the University of Nairobi.

He was recently added to Ruto's cabinet as minister for Investments, Trade and Industry

He is married to Elizabeth Kinyanjui

He was the Assistant Minister of Roads before becoming the chairwoman of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), from which he resigned to run for governor.

Kinyanjui has been lobbying for Nakuru's elevation to the status of Kenya's third city since 2020. He cited unique achievements such as the county's adoption of eco-friendly measures such as green construction technologies, as well as cooperation with the Dutch government to promote the agricultural sector, including potato growing.

The Governor has been at the vanguard of the fight against the pandemic, increasing Covid-19 immunization centers to 21, expanding health facilities in the region, and advocating for enhanced Covid-19 testing kits in public hospitals.

The Governor has also spearheaded historic infrastructure projects, including the Ksh3 billion Nakuru airport at the 81 Tank Battalion Barracks in Lanet and the Ksh 160 billion Rironi-Mau mountain road.
