Laventa Amutavi is widely known as the fiancée of Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, but there's more to her than meets the eye.
Aside from her relationship with Omanyala, Amutavi is a mother and an athlete, among other things. Here are some lesser-known facts about her:
Motherhood: Amutavi is a proud mother to a baby boy named Quinton Omanyala, whom she shares with Omanyala. They welcomed their son while they were still in university, although the arrival came unexpectedly due to financial constraints.
Siblings: Despite being her mother's third born in a family of four, Amutavi has numerous other siblings. She grew up in Kaimosi, where she has many brothers and sisters.
Education: She pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Moi University, marking her first departure from her hometown. Her university years were spent in Eldoret, which she found refreshing after studying in Western Kenya throughout her primary and high school education. It took her six years to complete her degree, during which she engaged in entrepreneurial ventures like selling clothes and food, thanks to her sister's influence.
Athleticism: Amutavi shares Omanyala's passion for athletics, specializing in sprinting and long jump. Their paths crossed during inter-university competitions, igniting a romance that eventually led to their engagement. Amutavi has competed in various long jump events in the past, showcasing her talent and dedication to the sport.
