Born Jonathan Lee Pratt Lasmid, JZyNO is a Liberian afrobeats artist who is living in Ghana and has won multiple awards. He is considered one of the fastest rising voices in the new wave of West African artists that are smashing records and pushing the boundaries in the afrobeat and highlife genres.
2019 saw JZyNO launch his professional career, motivated by Kendrick Lamar. With the release of his hit song "Kpan Kpan Me," which took up the MTN Liberian Music Awards' Afropop Song of the Year 2020 title, JZyNO became well-known in 2019. In addition, he received the Ghana Innovative Youth Awards in 2021, the Next Rated Artiste title at the Ghana Creative Arts Awards, Video of the Year (RULA), and African Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Fashion and Lifestyle Awards.
In August 2021, he released Brown Sugar, his EP of the same name. In order to promote the EP, six singles were released, one of which being "All you want." One of Tanzania's top performers, Nedy, and Ghanaian Epixode collaborated on the song "Rula," which was also released by JZyNO. In 2022, JZyNO was also honored with Liberia's Most Distinguished Entertainer Award.
Due to his intense passion for music, JZyNo threw caution to the wind in his quest for stardom. He experimented with many different genres before emerging as the afro-afrobeats/fusion sensation that we are all familiar with today.
