This was a major turning point in her career, which she had begun to shape eighteen years earlier when she moved to Nairobi after high school. She actively participated in the creation of the Konza Innovation Ecosystem Initiative, which brought together stakeholders from the public, business, and academic sectors to brainstorm creative answers to problems that face businesses.
She became motivated to become an entrepreneur when she ran a grocery store to assist pay for her education expenses. She explains, "On some days, I would be at the Marikiti and Gikomba markets by 3.30am to get supplies."
She has developed balancing skills in career, family, and school throughout time. She created an image of success for herself at a young age and always measured herself against the greatest.
Her high school teacher, coworkers, business leader Rita Okuthe, ICT Permanent Secretary John Tanui, and former KCC Chairman Matu Wamae have all served as mentors and guided her in the correct direction.
