Masinde has held several positions in Kenya. She previously served as Executive Director of the East Africa Centre of Law and Justice (EACLJ).

Joy is an advocate for the High Court. She worked as the Executive Director of Christian Legal Education Aid and Research (CLEAR).

Masinde worked for the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya. She worked for Kenya Students Christian Fellowship and the Deliverance Church International Council.

Joy was a council member of the Law Society of Kenya. At the Kenya Power Annual General Meeting on Friday, December 16, 2022, she and other directors were appointed to various positions. She has been an advocate at Kenya's High Court for two decades. Joy is a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

Masinde was a Council Member of the LSK, Nairobi Branch. She has been the Executive Director of the East Africa Centre for Law and Justice (EACLJ) for 12 years.
 

She has over two decades of experience in civil society and has previously served as a magistrate in Kenya.

Appointment

Kenya Power has named Joy Brenda Masinde as the new Chairperson of the Board of Directors. On Monday, the power company announced Masinde's appointment, along with six other directors.

The company appointed them at its annual general meeting on Friday. She takes over from her predecessor, Vivienne Yedawho.

Recently she was appointed by President Ruto's UDA to manage party grassroots elections.
