John Blaq's Biography in Summary

John Blaq is a Ugandan songwriter, singer, dancehall, hip hop, and Afrobeat performer who was born John Kasadha on July 16, 1996 to Mr Musa Waiswa Zodolo and Mrs Annet Nabirye. He is from Musoga, in the Jinja area of eastern Uganda.

John Blaq spent the majority of his childhood years in Bweyogerere, a Kampala suburb, with his aunt. He attended Lwanda Elementary School and Hassan Tourabi Primary School for his primary education before enrolling at Bweyogerere Secondary School for his UCE (2016) and UACE (2018) diplomas.

He had a tremendous affinity for music in the early 2000s, when he was in high school and used to compete in hip hop rap battles, always coming out on top. This influenced him to seek a musical career.

He made his first studio album, "More Fire," in the Buddies studio with Andy Music, one of Uganda's most known producers.

Blaq ruled the music world with his smash track "Tukwatagane" in 2018. After signing with Pepsi in September 2019, he utilized the song to direct the "Tukonectinge Pepsi" campaign. Since then, he has published a number of songs, including "Romantic" (2018), "Obubadi" (2018), "Makanika" (2019), "Nekwataako" (2020), and many more.

His debut collaboration song, "Sweet Love," with Vinka in December 2018, however, introduced him to a larger market in the Ugandan music business and helped him establish a name for himself. His debut concert took place on November 29th, 2019 in Freedom City, Kampala.

He has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Vinka, VIP Lemo, Ykee Benda, Daddy Andre, and many more. His dedication to the industry has resulted in numerous nominations and prizes, including the "2019 HiPipo Music Awards for the Must Watch Talent Artist," the "2019 Zzina Awards for Best Dancehall Artist," the "2020 HiPipo Music Awards for Song of the Year," and many more.

In 2019, he took part in a campaign to combat teenage pregnancies.
