President Ruto nominates Eng. Japheth Koome Nchebere as Inspector General of Police following the resignation of IG Hillary Mutyambai
Japhet Koome has been sworn in as the National Police Service's fourth Inspector-General (IG).
On Friday, November 11, Koome was sworn in by Chief Justice Martha Koome at the Supreme Court premises.
Following the tragedy, the Police Commissioner warned thieves and muggers who had been terrorizing Kenyans that their days were numbered.
Koome stated that he will emphasize the issue of livestock rustling in order to provide security for Kenyans.
He defended the police against allegations of brutality, claiming that the vast majority of cops are professional and that just approximately 2% of officers misbehave.
