Fred Arocho is a Kenyan radio host who specializes in football analysis. He went on to become a success story as a presenter after a brilliant career on the football field. This demonstrates that the end of one's football career is not the end of the world. As Fred Arocho has demonstrated, some people move on to use different talents and yet build a name for themselves.
FRED AROCHO Family
Billy Arocho, the former footballer's identical twin brother, He is married to Sophie Arocho, and the couple has four children, one girl and three boys (Alvin, Kensley and Jayden). They married in December 2008 at Nairobi's Windsor Golf Club. During the Easter weekend in 2019, the couple celebrated their 10-year anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, they traveled to Ugenya and reaffirmed their vows in front of family and friends. According to a Radio Jambo report, he sent 10 cows to his in-laws as a thank you for his wife.
"It's been ten years since I married my wife, and I went to Ugenya to my in-laws this past Saturday, where I took ten cows to represent the years I've been with my love," he explained.
"I brought my brothers and friends, and it was a very colorful celebration."
"My wife's friends, who are members of a women's organization called Dynabrains, also attended," he was reported as saying by Radiojambo.
FRED AROCHO Background
The Radio Jambo presenter was born ahead of his twin brother Billy Arocho. He was brought up in Eastleigh, Nairobi. For his primary education, he attended Ainsworth Primary in Eastleigh before getting a chance to join Pumwani High School.
Fred started playing football when he was 7-years-old. His love for the game continued while he was in high school and even began playing semi professionally for teams (ICDC FC and NSSF FC) which are now defunct.

Arocho entered the professional ranks of the beautiful game after graduating from high school.
A number of teams were interested in signing him, but he selected Sony Sugar, where he was an excellent defender. He later transferred to KCB.
He represented the national young squad in the East and Central youth championships in Mombasa in 1995. This provided him the opportunity to play against African football's biggest names, including George Finidi and Jay Jay Okocha.
“ This was one of my most cherished time in soccer because I rubbed shoulders with some of the finest of African soccer. I stood tall and managed to stop their menace in the pitch a thing which injected more confidence in my game,” he said in an interview published by Mchezo Africa.

FRED AROCHO Landing in Radio Jambo
He never missed a football match in Kenya due to his passion for the game. During one of these matches, he met Carol Radull, the program controller for Radio Jambo at the time. She recognized his beautiful voice, which landed him a job at the station.
“ One day while watching a match at city stadium I caught the ears of Radio Jambo’s programs controller Carol Radull who thought I had a good voice for an upcoming sports radio station. I earned myself an appointment for a voice test and I got through for the job. Carol Radull discovered what I never knew about myself and I owe her a lot of respect,” he said in an interview.
