Background and Family

Cliff belongs to the Kisii tribe and has a sister named Nyakerario Mayaka. Cliff's only known family member is his uncle, a police officer who he aspired to be as a child before entering the legal profession. Although he is a Kisii, he was born and raised in Western Kenya.

Education

Marube began his secondary education at Jamhuri High School before being expelled in form one due to disciplinary issues. He claims that he could not let a teacher punish him unless he had strong evidence to back up his claims. He enrolled in Highway High School in form two and was expelled. He then transferred to Friends School Kamusinga, where he was suspended several times before finishing high school at Koilel Secondary School. He studied law at the University of Nairobi before continuing his education at the Kenya School of Law.

Career

His interest in criminal law was piqued after reading 'Rage of Angles' by Sidney Sheldon, which inspired him to become a criminal lawyer. After graduating in 1995, he began working formally. Since he began practicing, he has established himself as one of the country's top criminal defense attorneys.

He claims that he does not act on emotions or opinions and that he cannot represent cases of sexual assault and rape. Ombeta is the Managing Director of his own criminal firm, Ombeta and Associates Law Firm. He defended the Akash Brothers, who were accused of trafficking cocaine worth KES 6.4 billion but were later sentenced in the United States.
 

His most publicized case was when he defended Okoth Obado when he was charged with murder. In addition, he represented Miguna Miguna and Fred Waititu. His most recent case was when he represented MP Babu Owino in connection with the shooting of DJ Evolve. Even with evidence, the case has yet to be brought to justice. He rarely loses a case, and many people believe he simply enjoys being in front of the camera. The LSK previously stated that he was not licensed, but this has since been resolved.
 

Marriage and Children

Cliff was married, but they divorced due to 'irreconcilable differences,' as he put it. He shares parenting duties with her because they have a daughter and two sons. He has stated that he will never be attached to another woman.
