Cleophas Malala is a well-known Kakamega County politician sometimes referred to as Cleo Malala. This article will look at his biography and political career since his election in 2013.

Cleophas Wakhungu Malala is a dedicated politician from Kakamega county. He was born in the year 1985.
Cleophas Malala Education and career
The Friends Kamusinga School alumnus began his political career in 2013 when he ran for MCA. He was elected to the Mahiakalo ward in Kakamega for four years till 2017, when he proceeded to run for the senator position in Kakamega county. The majority of the population voted for the ANC party member, who won the elections. In 2017, he was elected to the Senate.
Cleophas Malala was appointed as the Deputy minority leader in addition to becoming a senator. In March 2021, he was deposed and replaced by Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo. The reasons for this dismissal were not made explicit, however word has it that the post was recalled due to serious misconduct. It is worth noting that Senator Malala's party, Amani National Congress, is a member of the National Super Alliance (NASA).
In 2022, He ran for governorship of Kakamega county and lost to Barasa Fernandes who is the current Kakamega governor.
Cleophas Malala Personal life, Family
Senator Malala is married to Carolyne Ayietsa, with whom he was expecting a child in January. The gender of the baby, who is already cherished by the couple, was disclosed at the baby shower in January. Cleophas Malala wedded his wife in a traditional wedding in the Lurambi constituency in August 2018.
The charming senator paid the dowry required for his wife to participate in the glitzy traditional ceremony. Renowned politicians like as Wycliffe Oparanya and Honorable Edwin Sifuna graced the ceremony with pleasant remarks and well wishes for the couple. These dons in attendance are not only Senator Malaga's pals, but also his political fathers.
Senator Malala's status as a leader has been tainted by a variety of scandals and concerns stemming from his loyalties and personal behavior. Mr Malala, a politician, was briefly suspended from his party, the ANC, in 2020 on claims of serious misconduct. He allegedly made remarks that did not reflect the spirit of the party and harmed its reputation.
He desires His colleagues, including Marvin Kombo and Ababu Shogo, were arraigned in a Kakamega court, where the senator was charged with felony, assault, and wounding an IEBC officer on three counts. The senator was released after posting a Kshs 500,000 bond. His career, however, will only progress when he seeks the Governorship of Kakamega County.
