Cinderella Sanyu is a Ugandan dancehall artist, afro-pop singer, and songwriter. Cindy Sanyu is another name for her. Cindy was a founding member of Blue 3, along with Lilian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru. Cindy has shared the stage with Psquare, Wahu, Tiwa Savage, Shaggy, and Davido, to name a few. Ayokya Ayokya, her solo album released in 2009, featured hits such as "Mbikoye" and "Nawewe," among many others.

Cindy is currently one of the best female dancehall artists in East Africa. Her most recent hit, "Boom Party," has reached number one in Uganda and across Africa.

She is also the founder of the Band Cindy.

How I grew up and attended school

Cindy Sanyu was born in Kampala on August 28, 1985. Cinderella Sanyu Muyonjo is her real name, but she is from the Mbale district.

Cindy is the fifth child in an eight-child family from the Munyoro/Itesot tribe.

Cindy grew up in Ntinda barracks due to her father's military service. When things were really bad back then, she says, they could smell tear gas. This was due to the fact that military training could take place in the barracks.

Sanyu was always too small to join the school choir when she was younger. Her mother instead took her to church, where she learned to sing.

Cinderella began her education in the Mbale district. She attended Wenale Primary School before transferring to Ngora High School for her senior one and two years. Sanyu transferred to Wenale View Secondary School Mbale for her senior three and four years. She attended Mbale Progressive High School for her A level.

Cindy did not continue her education after graduating from high school. She instead went straight into the music industry.
