Calvo Mistari's Biography in Summary

A Career in Music
During high school, he joined his childhood friends from Madaraka Estate, Nick Osawao aka NickDawg and Paul Otiato aka Joka. And in 2004, they released their first single, The Flows, which featured Kenyan-American rapper Bamboo and became an instant hit.

They later teamed up with Ambrose Akwambi of Mandugu Digital and began recording their debut album in 2005 with the assistance of Bruce othiambo. In January of the following year, they released their first single from the album, Kwenye Dansi, which was well received and dominated radio and TV airplay at the time. The song was nominated for two kisima awards in the 2007 edition.

The group was nominated for Best New Group alongside eventual winner P-Unit, as well as Best Boomba Song, which Nikki won for her song Niwe wako.

They went on to release a number of songs from their album titled Chinchini in 2007, and the title song, Chinichini, is still a popular song today.
Calvo Mistari pursued a solo career after the group took a break from music in 2009. He collaborated with former TPF finalist Cedric to release his first single as Calvo Mistari, Nisamehe, which charted well that year.

Calvo collaborated with radio DJ and close friend Dj Nruff in 2010 to record an album titled Dj Nruff and the Superheroes, which reunited him with members of his Lyrical Assassins as well as Madtrax, Jahmani, Kenrazy, Girongo, Collo, and Robba of Klepto and UK artists J royal and Marcy fine.

He has also begun work on his debut solo album, which he is still recording with Decimal's Eric Musyoka, Homeboyz's Freddie, and Mandugu Digital's Ambrose Akwambi. In late December, he released the first single from the album Chapi, which featured Wyre and Opips over a Musyokja-dominated beat, to rave reviews.
The song soared to the top of NTV's Rush Countdown, where it remained for four weeks and remained on the charts for three months in a row until the end of March 2011. The song is also a club banger in Nairobi and other major Kenyan cities. Too Fine Featuring J'Mani & HB, Masela Featuring Private Wing, and his new song 'Umenimaliz' Feat. Bobby Mapesa & Gaza are among his other releases.
