With so many young people interested in creating content, identifying one's niche is critical, as Arap Uria realized early in his career. He took up a phone and began recording a series of films that he would later put online, believing in his dreams.
He had no idea that three years later, his videos would receive millions of views, YouTube would become his source of income, and he would receive numerous company endorsements.
The comedian who rose to prominence by impersonating well-known football commentators will be traveling to Qatar to watch the Fifa World Cup through his act.
Education
The YouTuber was born in the Moiben Constituency of Uasin Gishu County in the village of Kamauwa. He attended Mutei primary school before moving on to two different high schools before finishing his high school studies at Tambach.
Arap Uria then attended Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology to earn a Bachelor of Education degree. He majored in Mathematics and Geography, graduating in 2019.
Career
Uria is his surname, and his character is inspired by his grandfather. He began by doing comedy video in which he acted as a drunken. The majority of the clips were shot in his native language.
This irritated his father considerably because he is a devout Christian who thought that character was completely inappropriate. Nonetheless, his mother encouraged him to follow what he was passionate about. Later, his father joined in, especially after witnessing the wonderful reception he was receiving.
Rising to fame
The response to his videos astounded him. His fan base expanded beyond Kenya's borders, and he received supportive notes from Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, and Senegal.
His subscriber base has already surpassed 260,000, with approximately three of his videos receiving over a million views. He may now confidently state that humor pays. One of his euphoric moments came when Jim Berkeley tweeted his video. He mentioned how much he liked the cups.
Aside from impersonating football commentators, he also posts videos on Facebook alongside his pal, Gogo Smallz. In the videos, he portrays his wife.
