Ohangla dancer Sheila Wegesha biography, age and cause of death by husband

Detectives investigating the case have launched a manhunt for the deceased's husband, 45-year-old Jackson Bamboo, who has been identified as a person of interest in the heinous crime.

Jackson is reported to have left home at 1 a.m. on Wednesday, driving the couple's Mitsubishi Outlander without saying anything.
Detectives located the vehicle in a Nairobi City Centre parking lot near Kencom and towed it to the Athi River Police Station.

A detective briefed on the situation revealed that his phone signal was picked up in Narok County on Thursday at 6:26 a.m.

Police in Athi River, Machakos County, are looking into the gruesome murder of Ohangla dancer Sheila Odoyo, also known as Sheila Wegesha.

The 38-year-old's lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood on her matrimonial bed in Hill View Estate, with deep cuts to her throat.

Signs of struggle in the bedroom were visible, but neither her children nor her neighbors heard any commotion.

"We're tracking him. His last phone signal was recorded in Narok at 6:26 a.m. (May 9, 2024), before his phone went off," the detective stated.

Linda Okello, the deceased's daughter, walked into her mother's lifeless body on Wednesday afternoon while going to serve her lunch and raised the alarm.

"The lifeless body was lying on a bed in her bedroom with blood on the mattress and a deep cut visible on her throat," according to a police report on the incident.

A parking attendant informed the police that Jackson paid Sh450 for parking and left with three bags around 2:30 a.m.


"Mimi ndio immediate neighbour lakini sikuskia kitu..saa saba ndio tuliskia nduru kutoka kwa watoto," a neighbor of the couple recounted.

The body was taken to Shalom Community Hospital, and an investigation was launched into the incident.


According to reports, the couple had a troubled marriage due to infidelity, with one of their Hill View Estate neighbours regretting that it ended in tragedy.


A scuffle may have occurred inside the bedroom, and police who processed the scene noted that "there were signs of disturbance in the bedroom."

Jackson is believed to have owned an academy in Migori County.

Wegesha and her husband owned an entertainment venue on Nairobi's Umoja estate.


"Alikuwa anaweka live band, hapa anaita wasanii wa Ohangla wanakuja..."alikuwa mtu mlively sana," said a neighbour who knows the couple's business interests.

She enjoyed life and was a well-known figure among Ohangla fans, frequenting entertainment venues throughout the city to demonstrate her dancing abilities on stage.

The deceased's body was taken to Shalom Community Hospital morgue before being transferred by family on Friday to Chiromo morgue for autopsy.
