June Jerop, a Kenyatta University student and accountant at the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), was murdered, and the investigation has taken a new turn.
The 36-year-old was discovered murdered a fortnight ago, two days after allegedly going on a coffee date with her suspected boyfriend, Jesse Wafula. Wafula was later apprehended in connection with her murder. Debt of KSh 1 million After questioning, Wafula stated in documents filed at the High Court in Nairobi that Jerop was only his business partner and that he would use his company to apply for tenders.

The man, who identified himself as an ICT expert, went on to say that the deceased owed him KSh 1 million after he sold her a salvaged car, and that she was still paying at the time of her death. As a result, the suspect, through his lawyer John Swaka, stated that the vehicle in question was still registered in his name. Wafula also claimed that his 'business partner' was avoiding questions from her coworkers about her lifestyle and ownership of a vehicle.

Wafula requested his release from police, claiming that there was no tangible evidence linking him to Jerop's murder and that he had "nothing to do with her death." Wafula also denied going on a coffee date with Jerop prior to her death, as was widely reported.

He stated that the lady contacted him on March 17, but he was unable to return her calls. The suspect stated that he learned of her death from the police and was arrested before he could process the information. It is worth noting that on the fateful day she went missing, March 19, the suspect, who was driving a Mercedes Benz, was allegedly captured on CCTV picking the lady up at her South B apartment. They then set off for an unknown location. A CCTV later captured the deceased purchasing what appeared to be medicine at a pharmacy in Imara Daima.

Detectives discovered that Wafula used the same vehicle to travel to his rural home in Bungoma later that day. Blood found in a Mercedes Benz On March 24, he abandoned the luxurious vehicle and returned to Nairobi via public transportation. Wafula led detectives to Bungoma after his arrest and interrogation, where they recovered his vehicle. The suspect is suspected of using the vehicle to transport and dispose of Jerop's body near Jamhuri Primary School, where it was discovered.

The Mercedes Benz had blood traces all over it, according to detectives, and samples were taken for a DNA test to see if it matched the deceased. It is suspected that the lady was repeatedly stabbed or struck with a blunt object.
